Response letter dated 29 November 2024 (ref CAMS-012-35297908) to a request covering 1 Jan 2019 - 1 Oct 2024. 'Between 1st January 2019 and 1st October 2024 how many SEND appeals were received by the council?' -- Answer: 280. 'Of these appeal cases decided by tribunal, how many were in favour of the council?' -- Answer: 11. On legal spend: 'The Council manages SEND appeals from within its core service budget. There is no additional spend on legal teams.' (The letter also gives total SEND provision spend by financial year 2019-20 through 2024-25, but that is general SEND budget, not tribunal-specific, so it is omitted here as out of scope.)
